Our potatoes and farm
Our vodkas and gin start with our own potatoes, grown on Maine Distilleries partner Donnie Thibodeau’s Green Thumb Farms in Fryeburg, Maine. Green Thumb Farms grows Norwis round-white potatoes, regarded as the best-performing potatoes in the food service industry. The farm and sustainable use of its potatoes reflect Donnie’s longtime commitment to preserving Maine’s open spaces.
Not only do we pride ourselves on the excellence of our product, but also on our ability to trace each product directly to the field. We continue to implement Green processes and procedures both at our farm and our distillery; we use Best Farming Practices when growing and packaging our potatoes, and employ Integrated Pest Management Practices, defined by the USEPA as an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management.
